How To Make A Tomb For Easter Play

We made an Easter craft that celebrates the true meaning of Easter- empty tombs! He is risen! Alleluia! Alleluia!

This is so easy to make, and mostly involves supplies y'all have around your house at Easter time anyway! To make this craft, y'all are going to make your ain air dry clay, but it'southward really not hard to do- trust me. 🙂

Supplies Needed:

• Plastic Easter Eggs
• Easter Grass
• White Mucilage
• Green Paper
• Small Paper Plates (or something else to mount them on, such every bit a slice of cardboard)
• Wooden Skewers (or popsicle sticks to hot mucilage into crosses)
• Ingredients For Air Dry Clay (baking soda, corn starch, h2o)

Now comes the fun office! Take a scattering of the clay, and stick your egg in the center of it, working the edges around the border of the egg. Your egg will become the inside of the tomb.

Glue a slice of dark-green paper on peak of your base of operations (in this case, an upside down paper plate). Place the "tomb" on tiptop and flatten the lesser so it sits well. And so, glue the Easter grass effectually the bottom.

If desired, you can cut wooden skewers and glue them (I used hot gum) into crosses. I too did this ahead of time since I work with preschoolers. This way, each child can add a cross to the top of their empty tomb. Just stick it correct in the clay!

I love using air dry clay in a classroom surroundings considering information technology doesn't need to be baked. Expect at the awesome stone-similar texture the clay gets as information technology dries!
